Who are we?
An assortment of Christians from the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, England. We are from a number of different church types ("Denominations") though some have no particular Church affiliation. Some have been Christians for many years while others have just started to explore the teachings of Christ. Our meetings, which are informal, include prayer and study of the Bible with discussions about our faith and how it informs our daily lives.
We have no written constitution and no explicit geographical limits!
The Autumn Bible Study will be an exploration of Psalms. Right in the middle of the Bible, we find not a theological address or a great historical event, but passionate poetry. These wonderfully honest songs of life cover the full range of human emotions including hope, joy, lament, despair and thanksgiving while pointing to our faithful, good and eternal God.
These seven insightful sessions help us to discover:
There are psalms of education, consolation, exasperation, anticipation, lamentation, contemplation and adoration.
The psalms are earthy and realistic in addressing our frail and fallible human condition, but show us how to live a life of faith.
We can be completely honest about our emotions before God, while knowing Him to forever be worthy of our praise.
All welcome

The Christians in the Forest Advent course will be, "Preparing the Way" by Derek Tidball.
There is much preparation done for Christmas - writing cards, shopping for presents and food, decorating trees... This year, prepare yourself spiritually by examining how God planned and prepared for the birth of Jesus and how the cast of the original Christmas story played their parts.During this Advent Course we will look at how God arranged historical events for Christ's coming, what was happening on the world's stage at the time of the saviours birth and how people in the Bible were impacted by it. This may then enable us to see how we can be prepared for His second arrival.
